I was born in Fort Worth and raised in Springtown, where I attended school, Kindergarten through 12th grade. My family joined First Baptist Springtown when I was just 6 years old, and I was baptized there.
I am a graduate of Howard Payne University, where I played flute in the marching and concert band for four years. My degree was in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in English and Reading. I also met my husband, Stephen, while in the HPU band. Stephen plays the euphonium. Stephen and I were married in Fort Worth at Southcliff Baptist Church. We have one son, Michael, who is Sophomore student at TCS.
Our family has attended Southcliff Baptist Church for 22 years. Stephen and I are active in the church orchestra, including performances for the Southcliff Singing Christmas Tree.
A few of my favorite things are fried pickles, Dr. Pepper, Texas Rangers baseball, and the movie, The Wizard of Oz. My family also enjoys participating with a Scottish reenactment group at Scarborough Fair in Waxahachie each spring.
God called me to teach while I was participating in our church youth choir’s mission trip to Colorado.
One of my favorite Bible verses is found in Lamentations 3. In this passage, God reminds us that His mercies are new every day and that He is always faithful. These words are also found in one of my favorite hymns, “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” This will be my 18th year at Temple. I am so excited to be teaching with Mrs. Morrison in 4th Grade this year! I know God has a special year planned for us.
