Dallas Baptist University
DBU has launched an expanded dual credit initiative through our Honors Scholars Academy (HSA) in response to the growing demand for high school students to get ahead academically as part of their high school curriculum. For some time, we have offered online college courses for dual credit but have now increased the course offerings and expanded to include direct dual credit opportunities onsite with school partners. Below are several highlights of this newly expanded program:
• $5,000 scholarship for participating students that choose DBU
• Adjunct pay for school partner faculty that teach dual credit at their school
• Scholarships for partner school faculty that choose to continue their own education at DBU
• Access to DBU Writing Center, Library, and Math and Science tutoring resources
DBU is currently test-optional for current high school senior admission to our university. We are all familiar with the challenges facing this senior class due to the closing of testing centers, and desire to be flexible in our approach in how we grant admission to prospective students. DBU is also a partner school with the Classical Learning Test (CLT), which offers an alternative testing standard to that of the ACT and SAT. You can learn more about the CLT by clicking here.
DBU has a dedicated office focused on helping students find private scholarships. Once students commit to DBU, our Scholarships and Grant Resources Office staff will personally assist in identifying and securing private scholarships for students. The value of a Christ-centered education is an investment, and we work with our prospective students to ensure they receive the most financial aid possible. We've put together an online resource that provides more information about DBU and financial aid, and encourage you to check it out here.
Finally, DBU has launched a new traditional undergraduate student website with the goal of improving the prospective student and family experience through the college search process. You can access our site by clicking here or by typing discover.dbu.edu into any web browser.
