Temple Christian Schools"Inspiring the passion to learn, the courage to lead, and the commitment to serve.
What our parents say...
***"Our school-age children would spend the majority of their time in school, so why would we put them in an environment which is not only non-Christian, but in many cases anti-Christian? Why would we not put them in an environment where there is possibility of instilling disciple and biblical values at the most impressionable ages of our kids? And although we live in a nice neighborhood, the elementary school nearby had the highest drug rate in the city. We could only pray that the Lord would provide the resources when the time came. Each passing year confirmed that conviction more and more. It was with this conviction (and fear, in all honesty) that we started researching schools early in the spring of 1999. (We) had narrowed it down to 3 private school within 10 minutes of our home, and I took off work one day so we could visit all of them. Temple was the first, and unfortunately for the others, set a standard they could not meet. Temple was not the most inexpensive, but it was also not the most expensive. It was by far the most organized. We had made appointments with all three, but you were the only one who acted like you were expecting us. I remember (Mr. Hall) showing us around the campus and an upper classman changed his direction, came right up to him and said, "Good morning, Mr. Hall - how are you today?" I was in shocked disbelief. I worked at Six Flags for 23 years, so I KNEW this was not normal behavior for a teenager. You can't possible know what an impression that one incident had on me. I don't have any idea who the boy was, but he and the rest of the students we observed that day are largely responsible for the education our daughters are now receiving. At one point you let us peek into Kim Tutton's class, and we saw an orderly room full of 5 year olds with Miss Tutton calmly and peacefully in charge. Again, am impression I will never forget.
That first year with Kim Tutton was remarkable. Grace was writing in cursive and reading by Thanksgiving. By the middle of Spring she was doing rudimentary algebra. In Kindergarten. Over the years, we've had several friends ask why we don't home school. Our response has always been, "Are you CRAZY?" We could never approach the quality of education the girls get at Temple.
In case I haven't gotten my point across, we really really really like Temple Christian School. Specifically:
-The girls can talk about Jesus at school. In fact, the Lord is in almost every one of their lessons.
-The girls can pray at school. In class. With their teachers.
-The teachers are world class. We haven't had one yet that could even be considered only "above average".
-The teachers DILIGENTLY keep the parents involved. if we aren't involved, it's our own fault.
-The curriculum is incredible.
-The opportunities to grow in non-academic areas are very plentiful. In fact, the only difficulty is in narrowing things down to a manageable level.
-The administration has their act together. If there is something we don't know, it's because we didn't take advantage of one of the "47 ways" you make sure information is available for EVERYTHING that's going on.
Mr. Hall, I love your school. I love you staff. I love the ministry that takes place. Christi and I thank God all the time that our girls are at Temple. What a blessing!
Just wanted to let you know.

***TCS and faculty have been a very large blessing to our family and we love to pass the word around. Our daughter has been so blessed to have certain teachers in her life (Mrs. McCormick, Mrs. Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Schweitzer - I know there is a special place in heaven for these two! - and Mrs. Johnson.) These teachers demonstrate the love that I wish all teachers in private schools and public schools could achieve.
Mrs. Johnson has been our daughter’s 6th grade math and English teacher and has been everything that we feel a teacher should aspire to be. It is very important for our daughter to have a structured environment and Mrs. Johnson demonstrated this daily. It was clear what was expected when walking into her classroom. At the start of the year Mrs. Johnson had to contact us regarding a couple of situations with out daughter. She kept us in the loop on everything, when progress report grades came out (before web access) I didn’t have to ask for the break down of grades, she sent them along with the progress report. I believe for a child to thrive in school in today’s society it is very important for the teacher and parents to work together.
Most importantly, I never doubted Mrs. Johnson’s love for our daughter. She is able to do something that some teachers have not mastered, no matter how many years of experience they have. She can be strict and demonstrate love at the same time. It is obvious that she is able to look at each child as an individual and not focus on the child being in trouble. Anytime she had to give us negative feedback about our daughter, she always had something positive to say at the same time. Through her loving and forgiving ways she is an example of God’s love shining through everyday.”

*** I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me the privilege of working with some of your students...
These are some of the finest young people I have been blessed to meet and come to know, as well as work with. Their moral standards are commendable which is a direct reflection on the leadership they have experienced thus far. I was especially impressed with their ability to be so well behaved as they worked under some pretty dire circumstances. Their cheerfulness, generosity and excitement of sharing with everyone around them was veritably contagious. All this is wonderful but the one thing that impressed me most was their spontaneity in prayer. What an absolute blessing to watch teenagers stop automatically and pray for one another and their teachers when an occasion arose!!
It is magnificently obvious that these young people had been nurtured and loved and lead in a very beneficial way to them and those who come in contact with them. What a wonderfully positive reflection of their school, teachers and parents. Thank you for your good work and for the distinct honor I had of being touched by them! Another angel breeze in my life.

*** Enclosed you will find my final check for my daughter's tuition. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for having worked with me throughout my daughter's years at your school.
If no one has said this, maybe I can. I have never regretted having changed my daughter to your school. My daughter's wish to attend your school was at that time, a difficult one. We simply had not budgeted for a private school...However, I knew that if the Lord wanted her to do this, he would clear the path for me however difficult it might be.
There were some sad times as well as many, many happy times spent there. I had the fortunate experience to meet her many new friends and as the same time watched her blossom from a silly little school girl to a beautiful young lady. And like many parents, I watched my child grow through the heartaches of the many relationship she may have made and/or lost. But then again, that is part of life isn't it? And we all have passed through those gates at one time or another. The difference is, that some of us pass on to the next stage of our life with fear and not direction, while others are fortunate enough to receive the guidance necessary to make this transition easier. I believe your school has made many of them more self-assured and prepared to meet life's many uncertainties. You have managed to place my daughter in this last category.
My daughter has also had some tough hurdles in her personal life that she's had to deal with these last two years. She's managed to tackle them all, one at a time...I know she made is through because of the close relationships developed at Temple. In addition, the love dealt out by both your staff and her fellow students played a major part. I will always remember them and be appreciative of them being there for her.
This year, I am a proud father. I am overly pleased as to how she turned out and I am especially proud of what she was able to accomplish academically at your school. I can't ever thank you enough for everything that you've done to make my daughter's high school years, successful and fun. I
With these last words I leave you and wish you a blessed future both personally and professionally. May your school turn out more students like my daughter and many of her friends. May they have the insight to see and appreciate the wonderful life given to them while attending Temple Christian School. God Bless you all.
