Easy Ways to Help Your School
Thanks to all who participated in
and helped with the TCS Auction. Much of the auction was on-line this year
and resulted in a 60% increase in that aspect of the auction. The auction
finished paying for the new playground, and provided other athletic and academic
equipment.
ALBERTSONS FOOD STORES returns
between 1% and 5% to the school if customers scan their "Community Partners"
card available in the school offices
OFFICE DEPOT will donate 5% of purchases back to TCS. TCS ID# 70097017.
CENTRAL MARKET will donate 5% of purchases back to TCS if you have one of their cards.
TARGET STORES will donate a percentage of purchases back to TCS if our school is designated as the recipient.
TOM THUMB donates a percentage of all
sales back to the school if customer is registered.
DFW ENTERTAINMENT PASSBOOKS are available in the school office. $20.
MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTIONS will still benefit TCS if new or renewal is made through the QSP
site accessible by clicking on "Links" on the left side of the TCS Home Page.
RECYCLE USED INK CARTRIDGES AND CELL PHONES.
TCS will receive cash for these items.
NEW WAY TO SUPPORT TCS
TCS has joined a program now used by 30,000 other
non-profits that will raise money for the school, uses something that almost
everyone uses, and costs the supporter nothing.
TCS will receive a direct donation every time one of our supporters uses "Goodsearch"
to search the internet. This search engine is powered by Yahoo so
nothing is lost by its use.
To use the service, simply download the GoodSearch toolbar from:
http://www.goodsearch.com/
toolbars.aspx
Then use this for your internet searching. The first time you use this,
it will ask you for your charity. Simply type in "Temple Christian
School" and it will direct you to our school. Then use as any other
search. It will automatically credit TCS in any future searches.
Daily and Weekly Schedules for Temple West are now provided on the Temple West Page.
PRAYER REQUESTS
From our Temple Family
(If you know of specific prayer requests from our Temple family, please submit these to the administration office.)
Current (updated 4/15)
Jacey Patton, TCS 6th grader, is undergoing tests to determine the source of swelling and pain in her joints. They are checking for rheumatoid arthritis or other similar diseases. If these prove to be ruled out they will begin allergy testing. (4/15)
Roger Bailey, husband of Mrs.
Bailey who taught elementary for TCS last year, continues to suffer greatly from
the effects of Agent Orange. His condition is not improving. (9/25)
(Update 1/28: Mr. Bailey will have exploratory
surgery tomorrow - 1/29 in Dallas to see if they can determine his problem.
Update 2/4: he came through surgery well and they believe they were able
to solve some of his pain problems.) Update 2/12: Mr. Bailey is still in the hospital.
He has pneumonia and a staff infection. His weight has dropped to 120
pounds.)
Pat Brooke, TCS Financial Director, will be undergoing further testing this week in Dallas. Her myeloma tests are elevated and the testing will determine what course needs to be taken. (1/27) Update 2/3: She is no longer in remission but her doctor says he is putting her on a new medication which he hopes will return her to where she was previously. Update 2/19: The new medicine is being tolerated well but an MRI did reveal some concentration of myeloma cells in her hip. The doctor is seeing if the current medication will take care of this.
Long Term
Mike Smith -
TCS Development Director, is undergoing
long term treatment for a partially blocked artery to his heart.
