Temple tuition free
Following
a several year absence and due to a recent IRS ruling, it is now possible for
TCS to once again offer unique means for parents to reduce their tuition costs
and make a
TCS has always endeavored by every
possible means to keep our tuition within the range of the greatest number of
families. The result has been a
continuing record of TCS being recognized as the most affordable large school in
the DFW area.
Over the past years TCS has offered
several means for families to further reduce their school costs by availing
themselves of programs offered by the school.
Continuing opportunities such as the fireworks warehouse, pizza day,
concession operation, etc. have funneled thousands of dollars to students and
parents to help with school expenses.
Originally, the SCRIP program was another
means designed to help
The SCRIP program affords an opportunity
to purchase gift cards from a huge variety of merchants, service providers,
etc. The cards are sold at face value so
there is absolutely no extra cost to the purchaser. (For example a $25 Wal-Mart
gift card is sold for $25). Operating
through a national organization, merchants such as Wal-Mart sell the gift cards
to the school at a discount, resulting in a profit when the cards
are sold at face value. Parents now have
the opportunity to purchase these cards at face value and one half of the
discount offered the school will be automatically credited to the parent’s
tuition account.
A complete list of merchants
participating in this program is available in the school offices along with the
percentages of rebates each offers.
This is an opportunity for fully
participating parents to reap significant benefits by purchasing the cards to
use in their shopping, gift giving, etc.
Most major retailers’ cards are available. Parents are encouraged to secure a list and
begin participating immediately. This is
a “win-win” situation for parent and school.
Both receive benefits from the program.
TCS stocks most major store’s SCRIP for
immediate pick-up. Should large orders
be needed, or supplies are exhausted, 2-3 day delivery may be required. There is no limit to the amount of cards
purchased. (For example, a major
remodeling project with materials purchased from Home Depot or Lowe’s could
result in significant credit to a parent’s account. Regular grocery purchases through the system
could have the same effect – all major grocery stores participate). Restaurants, airlines and virtually every
type of retailer participate in the program.
Rebates on cards range from 2% to 20%.
Rebates may be credited to tuition,
registration, major class trips or regular school student expenses. They cannot be credited to TCS uniforms or
lunch programs.
Cards will be sold or ordered through the
health room office at
Individuals without students at TCS, or
those just desiring to support the school, may designate the entire rebate be retained by the school.
In this case the amounts retained are considered a tax deductible
contribution to the school.

Parents are also
reminded of other “pain free” ways to support TCS:
1. Use the special cards supplied by some merchants. At check-out the card is swiped and the store
rebates a certain percentage to TCS.
Among stores offering this program are Albertson’s, Tom Thumb/Randall's, etc.
2. Switching to “Goodsearch” as a computer search engine. Go to www.goodsearch.com.
3. A third way parents can support TCS, and
help hold tuition and costs down, is by helping the school publicize its name
to surrounding neighborhoods.
Professionally produced rear window or bumper stickers are available
from the school offices. Parents are
encouraged to avail themselves of this opportunity to keep
