Brandon Zegarelli, Class of 2005, has been inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society at Baylor University.  The Society is a top premier university honor society in the world with .7 million members.    Bandon qualified by being in the top 15% of his class.  He is pursuing an eventual Doctorate in Pharmacy.

Tyler Atkinson, Class of 2004, has received the Katharine Cooper Cater Fellowship Award for the '07-'08 academic year.  The award is one of 23 given annually by the national group and is given for graduate study.  Tyler will attend Baylor Law School.

Michelle Zegarelli, Class of 2006, has achieved the Commissioners Honor Roll with the Lone Star Conference..  She was also named 1st team all tournament in volleyball and is on the Dean's list.  She is attending Abilene Christian University on a volleyball scholarship.

Allyson Kidwell, Class of 2002, a petroleum engineer at Hess Petroleum in Houston, has been promoted to Head Engineer over New Drill Sites.  She was told that this type of position had never been offered to someone as young as she.

Autumn Kidwell, Class of 2005, is a member of a Texas A&M team building a one man submarine.  The team will take the sub to Michigan this summer to compete against other universities.  A&M has won the national competition the past five years.  Autumn, an Ocean Engineering major, has also been accepted for an internship at INTEC Engineering in Houston.

 Laura Mancini, Class of 2014, captured first place in the recent ACSI District Spelling Bee.  Twenty one schools participated, with 20-30 competitors per grade.  Other TCS students placing high included Baylee Smith, second place, 4th grade; and Stephen Hayworth, 4th place, 7th Grade.

Class of 2007, have been selected to serve on the Congressional Youth Advisory Council.  They will be working most directly with U.S. Congressman Michael Burgess of Lewisville to offer the perspective of the younger generation on today's pressing problems.

Rob Gray, Class of 2007, has achieved Scouting's highest rank, Eagle Scout.  Rob is a member of Troop 905 in Grapevine.  To earn the award Rob had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a community service project (construction of a foot bridge over a drainage area at Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Colleybille).7

Lauren Zegarelli, Class of 2006, has accepted a Christian Leadership Scholarship and a volleyball scholarship from Dallas Baptist University.

Kathryne Minter, Class of 2009, was featured recently in an article in the Ft. Worth Star Telegram.  She is one of the leading sprint car drivers in the area, having just moved up to the division this year.  She currently ranks seventh in points at Cowtown Speedway.  Overall she has won 58 feature races in her 3 year racing career.

Rebekah Bing, Class of 2006 has been notified of her selection to be a Robert C. Byrd Scholar.  TCS has had 4 Byrd Scholars in the last 5 years.

Joseph Bird, Class of 2004 is on the President's List, Vice-president of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and has been inducted into the Holmes College (Miss.) Hall of Fame.  He is planning a major in Biblical Studies and on completing his MA at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Caleb McLean, Class of 2007 captured the state championship in the 400 meter race during the TAPPS State Championships held May 5-6, 2006  in Waco.  He had qualified for the event by winning the regional meet.  Caleb also placed fourth in high jump competition.


Tyler Atkinson, Class of 2004, has been elected Student Body President at Texas Wesleyan
University.  Tyler, who will be a junior next year, was chosen by Wesleyan students for the post following an active campaign.
  Tyler also received several awards at the end of year Awards Day at TWU.  He received the Political Science Achievement Award, was named Mr. Texas Wesleyan and was recognized as a Hatton W. Summers Scholar.  Tyler also received recognition as being in the top 2 percent of students by Alpha Chi, a national honor society.

Class of 2009, has been elected 2006 Texas Girls' Choir Posture Queen.   She was selected at the 2006 Spring Charm School. The 275 choir members nominated 10 members from each choir.  The nominees were then voted on narrowing the group to a total of 15 finalists.  Judges then selected the winner.  Danielle has been in the choir for 3 1/2 years. 3 1/2 years and has traveled with the group to New York City

Choirs, Ensemble Earn Top Marks at TAPPS.  The TCS choir and ensemble received all "1's" (the top score possible) during 2006 TAPPS state music competition in Abilene. All solos and small groups but one also received top "1" scores.  and all those

Brandon Zegarelli, Class of 2005, has been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and also listed on the National Dean's list.  Brandon plans to earn a pre pharmacy degree from Baylor and then a Pharm D degree from UT.

Lauren Zegarelli, Class of 2006, finished as first runner up in the Texas division of America's Homecoming Queen Pageant held April 8-9 at the DFW Hyatt Regency.  Competition is between Homecoming Queens at public and private high schools throughout the state.  52 girls were chosen to compete from the over 900 applicants.  Lauren was the TCS 2005 Queen.  Lauren adds to the TCS record in the competition.  Over the past five years TCS queens have finished as first runner up twice and won the title once.ve years Temple has had one  winner and two first runners up.

Teresa Hall, Class of 2006, and Adrienne Reid, Class of 2008  have won divisions in a national Creative Communication contest.  Both girls won in the poetry division.  Only 30 winners were selected nationally so it is particularly noteworthy that two of these are TCS students. Teresa Hall won for the 12th grade and Adrienne Reid won for the 10th grade.  Both girls will receive a savings bond in addition to having their works published.and a free copy of the anthology which contains their po

Michelle Bacon, Class of 2006, has accepted a volleyball scholarship to Abilene Christian University, and signed a national letter of intent.  The TCS star finished an outstanding career at Temple by helping lead the Fighting Eagles squad to a national championship this year.

Misty Foster, Class of 2003, has landed her first roll in a New York play.  She has been cast as one of the leading characters in "As You Like It".  The play will be performed in the Shakespeare Festival by the Hudson Shakespeare Company.  The show will run the first 3 weeks of June.  Misty has only been in New York City for three months. She is majoring in Theatrical Performance at Marymount Manhattan College.

Carissa Smith, Class of 2002, has been accepted into Rice University's graduate school of Chemistry.  She will teach as well and, as a result, will have her tuition paid as well as a sizeable salary.  Carissa was named Texas A&M's Outstanding Student in Organic Chemistry last school year.

     Limited to 8 entries, Temple West students earned 2 Excellent and 6 Superior ratings at the 2006 ACSI Science Fair.  Five students received medals for being tops in their divisions.

The Fighting Eagle Junior High Cheerleading squad captured a state title in competition in early February.  The squad won their state title in the Non Music Division and finished third in the Music Division.  Earlier in the year the girls had captured the Regional title.

Rebekah Bing, Class of 2006, has been chosen to be a candidate for the 2006 Presidential Scholars Program.  Out of 2.8 million high school seniors graduating this year only 2,600 students are chosen for this honor.  Rebekah will be competing to be selected one of the 141 students chosen to be a Presidential Scholar.  Winners receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. and will be honored in a ceremony at the White House.  Update 4/2006:  Rebekah has made the first cut as a candidate and is a semi-finalist.

Christine Kelley, Class of 2009, was presented at the Fort Worth Stock Show and the associated parade as "Texas Girls' Choir Rodeo Sweetheart" for 2006.  As a member of the choir Christine has traveled to a dozen foreign countries and across the United States.   is the daughter of Judi Powers of                                                                                                                            Sam Birks, Class of 2006, was recently recognized as Honorable Mention football All-State on both the offensive and defensive teams.  Sam has been offered a scholarship to play football at Southwest Baptist University in Missouri.  Sam is pictured at his official signing.  Also shown are his mother, football coach Neil Childs, his grandfather (standing) and his father.

 

Dylan Myers, Class of 2015, recently won the beginner age division State Championship of the Texas Junior Bassmasters.  He weighed in a 4.92 pound largemouth bass to win the championship in his age group (7-10 years).  The tournament took place at Richland Chambers Reservoir new Corsicana.  Dylan received a trophy, 2 fishing rods, a reel, and a pro tacklebox.  He had qualified for the state tournament at the regional tournament held at Joe Pool Lake in August.

Misty Foster, Class of 2003, has been accepted into the Theatre Department of Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.  She will receive both academic and theatre scholarships at the school.  Misty auditioned and received leading roles in three shows this past summer in the New England area.  One show was directed by David Lansbury, Angela Lansbury's son.

Teresa Hall and Sam Birks, Class of 2006, have been named Temple Christian Schools' nominees for the Wendy's Heisman Trophy.  Wendy's hamburger restaurants and the Heisman   Memorial Trophy Committee are co-sponsors of the award.  Selection is based on student's record as high school scholar-athlete-citizens.  The nominees are evaluated for their excellence in the classroom, on the field and within their communities.

Micaela Watkins, Class of 2006, has been named one of 25 students nationally chosen to be honored with the Nestle' Very Best in Youth award.  The award is in recognition of significant achievement in academics and community service.  The honor includes an all-expense paid 5 day trip to Los Angeles for the award ceremony and a $1000 donation to the charity of her choice.

Rebekah Bing, class of 2006, has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar by the College Board which administrates the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT.  The rating is based on Rebekah's score on the PSAT test.  Rebekah also scored near the very top of the ACT test taken this year.  Her ACT score would translate to an SAT score of approximately 1500.

Clayton Ellis, class of 2005, has been named a winner in the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.  Winners are selected from young entrepreneurs who have created and built their own businesses.  The award carries a $10,000 reward for their hard work.  Clayton was honored for founding and developing a landscaping and power washing business.
     Clayton was also chosen to receive the "Seth Henderson Award' during ceremonies held in connection with the DFW All-Star Football Classic.  The award goes to one player in the Classic and is based on "outstanding student in class room; outstanding performer on the football field; maturity; leader by example; great role model; and a true Christian in words and actions."  The award carried a $1000 scholarship to the college of Clayton's choice.

Autumn Kidwell, class of 2005, has been selected a recipient of the prestigious "Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship."  Recipients are selected by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.  Autumn becomes the third Byrd scholar from TCS in the past four years.

Kimi Willingham, class of 2004, has been voted by her peers to represent Baylor as a "Baylor Beauty".  She was selected during a four week process that included nominations from various classes and organizations, narrowing of the numbers of nominees, and voting by the student body.  The 37 top vote getters were then presented to a panel of judges to choose the 12 who would represent Baylor.  Judging was on poise, live interview, and beauty.

Charity Chambers, Class of 2009, was chosen to attend the state Southern Baptist Convention in San Antonio and present her ministry to the 5000 delegates in attendance.  Charity was one of eight young people accorded this honor.  She was also quoted in the state Baptist Standard newspaper.

Allyson Kidwell, class of 2002, has accepted a lucrative internship with Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Long Beach, California.  She will work as a member of Occidental's reservoir engineering team for the summer.  Allyson is a Petroleum Engineering major at Texas A&M.  A recent quote from one of her A&M professors:  "You are a stellar performer...Your final exam was a 97, the best in class and your final average was 97, best in class.  Your project was exceptional and your team mates must have agreed because the peer evaluation is factored into the project score and if you made more than 100 that means your team recognized you did more than the lion's share of the work.  You scored 102."
