TCS FUNDRAISING PHILOSOPHY

TCS 's Fundraising philosophy and programs are conducted under the following guidelines:  The school does not conduct "product sales" type of fund raising (candy, cards, cheese, etc.).  All fundraisers are geared to something a parent or supporter would normally use - and not be purchasing just to support the school.  Most fundraisers are conducted year-around because of their nature.

The School participates in several fundraisers which require only a brief commitment of time from the parent:  Taste Tests, etc.  These are used whenever possible.  Programs such as SCRIP are run with no extra financial commitment necessary.

The one traditional fundraising program parents will encounter is a magazine sale.  Even here the students are encouraged to go to their families and ask them to renew their current subscriptions through the program or perhaps add any new subscriptions they have been considering..  Door-to-door or other types of selling are discouraged.

Financial Information

Temple Christian endeavors to keep education costs to a minimum while hiring and retaining top quality educators and maintaining facilities conducive to a healthy  and vigorous learning environment. Temple has historically had the lowest tuition rates of any school of our size in this area, thus opening Christian education to as many families as possible.  Traditionally, TCS has increased tuition approximately 5% per year solely to enable salary increases for the staff as cost of living increases. 

Temple Christian continues to modify its financial programs to financially help our families.  Watch TCS publications for details on any new programs.

All regular class fees are included in the tuition rates.  This is designed to make it easier to budget your child's schooling. A 12 month payment option is available to reduce monthly outlay.  Temple also offers a wide array of discounts and money saving opportunities.

Registration Fees: Must be turned in with the application. Grades K - 12...........................................................$335

Registration fee covers curriculum use fee; charges for record and file set up; 24 hour internet access to your child's grades, assignments, financial records etc; availability of making payments via bank draft; the monthly "Eagle Tales" newsletter; a copy of the TCS yearbook for each student; student accident insurance for each student; and a dedicated amount to support state and national organizations working for the advancement and protection of Christian education. A place is made for your child once the requirements are met and the registration fee paid. Registration fees are non-refundable unless a student is denied admission to TCS by the Admission Committee because of failure to pass entrance tests or meet TCS standards or requirements. Registration fees will not be refunded for any other reason. Re-enrolling students receive a $25 discount if enrollment forms and registration fee are received by March 31.

Entrance Test Fee:   New Students Only............................................................................................................................................................................$50.00

The testing fee must be submitted with the completed application before the entrance test is scheduled. Testing fees are non-refundable once tests have been given. The fee covers administering nationally standardized achievement and ability tests.

Tuition Rate Schedule

You will be automatically placed on the 10 month payment plan unless you request the 12 month arrangement or pay in full for the year. Parents enrolling on or after June 1 who want to pay on the 12 month plan must make up any missed payments.

Yearly Tuition Paid in Full Prior to June 1, 2006: (Rates reflect an approximate 5% discount.  No other discounts may be used  This discount is of benefit to the parent ONLY if there is one student in the family attending TCS.  If two or more children, it is always less expensive to use the regular tuition schedule and receive the second child discount.)

Monthly Payment and Multi-child Tuition Rates:

There are special rates for families with more than one child enrolled in Temple Christian School. If the children are divided between elementary, middle school, and high school, the older child will be considered child number one, the second oldest as child number two, etc. Amounts are payable monthly. Multiple child discounts may not be combined with any other discount.

PAYMENT OF TUITION

Payments are due the first day of each month. After the tenth calendar day of the month there will be a $25 late charge on any unpaid balance.  TCS cannot accept post dated checks to meet payment deadlines.    Should payment not be received by the 10th of the month, the school will notify parents of the outstanding payment and late fee by mail or email.  If payment is not received by the 15th day of the same month, the student will not be permitted to attend classes until the account is made current.  Parents anticipating financial difficulties should immediately contact the Financial Administrator for consultation.  Accounts must be made current before enrollment is accepted for the coming year.  No records or transcripts will be released until a student's account is paid in full.  TCS accepts cash, checks, money orders, MasterCard and Visa credit or debit cards for tuition payments.

There will be a $25 charge for returned checks. When a check is returned by the drawer bank, the person issuing the check will be notified (personal phone call, voice mail or email at numbers or addresses listed on the enrollment application shall be considered notification). Full restitution for the unpaid check and payment of the $25 service charge must be submitted to the school the next work day following notification.  Payments for returned checks may be Cash, Money Order, Cashier's Check, Debit or Credit Card.  Failure to make timely restitution may result in suspension of check writing privileges and suspension of student(s) until the account is current.  Following two or more returned checks during any one school year, check writing privileges may be suspended even if full restitution has been made.

Withdrawal Policy:

Because the school's budget is based on students remaining the entire year (salaries, books, maintenance, etc. are based on this), the following policy, regarding financial responsibility, was adopted by the school board.  The policy applies for those students who enroll, but never actually attend, withdraw, are unrolled, are expelled, or for any reason fail to continue in attendance for the school year:

Discounts:

1.      Enrollment before June 1 (tuition discounts)

2.      Registration fee discount for returning students if paid before March 31 - $ 25.00

One or both of discounts #1 and #2 may be combined with any one of discounts #3 - #6 listed below.   No child may attend by combining any two or more of the discounts listed below - they may take advantage of any one, but not more than one.

3.      Approximate 5% discount for a full year's tuition paid before June 1, 2004. (See previously listed schedule)

4.      Multiple child discounts for 2nd and any additional children (these are substantial amounts ranging from $910 to $1580 per child.) See tuition schedules.

5.      Temple Baptist Church  and Castleberry Baptist Church member's discount is available after one full year of membership. The student(s) and parent or guardian of the student receiving the discount must also be regularly attending members of one of the churches and serving in a church ministry.  All children receiving this discount will pay the second child tuition rate listed under the 10 or 12 month payment plans.  Eligibility for the discount is solely determined by the church staff of each church.

6.      Full Time Workers Discount - This discount is available to children of households who are full time staff members of local churches or Bible Colleges, full time Bible college students, or full time missionaries. Heads of households will be considered the man in the household unless there is no adult man present in the household. Full time college students must be carrying at least 12 semester hours. Full time church staff must have the full time service as their primary source of income. All children receiving this discount will pay the second child tuition rate listed under the 10 or 12 month payment plans.

Discounts # 5 and # 6 must be applied for each year.  Applications are available in the School Administration Office.  All discounts are placed into effect only at the beginning of school terms.

Financial Aid: 
 Discounts listed above are offered to all parents and will help reduce total cost.

Star Program is a privately funded scholarship program sponsored by an outside group. Temple accepts students participating in this program.
