Secondary Math, Head Varsity Baseball Coach, SST

I grew up in Belleville, IL--a city of 45,000 located 15 miles east of St. Louis. I was an active member of St. George’s Episcopal church serving as an acolyte until I left for college. I attended Belleville East HS and was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, co-captained the football team, and was a state-qualifier as a pole-vaulter in track. I attended the Air Force Academy from 1974-78 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. While at the Academy I played football and ran track (pole-vault), and was a member of the Academy’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter.

I served 22 years in the United States Air Force, specializing in tactical/satellite communications. I’ve earned Master’s degrees from the Air Force Institute of Technology and the National Defense University. Following my AF career, I spent 12 years in the IT Industry, primarily with AT&T/Lucent Technologies/Bell Labs. Prior to joining the TCS staff I taught Computer Science at Pantego Christian Academy, and coached Varsity baseball and football.

I’m a fitness enthusiast, having completed two marathons and several triathlons. While in the military I became Airborne (parachutist) and SCUBA certified. I’ve been coaching since graduating from college, and am passionate about the positive impact sports can have on young peoples’ lives. During the summer I work as a youth coach for the Texas Rangers.

Family has always been a priority in my life. My father left a strong legacy of service for us; he was a Veteran, flew combat missions over Europe during WWII, and was a Prisoner of War in Germany for 1½ years. My wife (Cathy) and I have two sons, Tyler (wife, Ashley) and Jordan (wife, Eva), and one grandson, Carter.
