Words cannot express the pure joy I have in being part of the Temple family.  As I begin my 31st year in education, my heart overflows with thankfulness to the Father for bringing me here.

Born in Fort Worth and raised in Houston, my life has been rooted in Texas.  After graduation from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, (Go, Tigers!) I immediately began teaching in a public high school just outside of Houston.  Four years later, the Lord placed in my heart a desire for Christian education.  He opened doors that have brought the peace and contentment that can only be found in Him.

I am delighted to teach high school as well as junior high English this school year.  I believe a firm foundation in grammar and mechanics is vital in every social circle.  As colleges and businesses use text and email more readily, our students must have every opportunity to excel in written communication.  Spelling and literature play an equally important role in our children’s education as written and verbal communication are expected and practiced in every subject.  The ability to master the basics of English begins in junior high.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. In 1994, I married my husband of 27 years.  Our family has grown with our three precious children, Brittany, Wyatt and Quaid and our wonderful son-in-law, Justin.  The joy my family brings to me is immeasurable.  I truly “have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth," 3 John 1:4.

My favorite moments come from spending one-on-one time with my husband, reading, running, and reading some more.  If I had to choose a novel to call my favorite, it would end in a tie between Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights and Corrie ten Boom’s The Hiding Place.  My favorite quote is from Corrie ten Boom, “There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still.”

May He be our continual light as we walk in His love,
