Director of Guidance, Secondary English

I have had a love affair with Temple Christian School since it was a dream of the members of Temple Baptist Church. Participating in many events to raise funds to purchase the land at Randol Mill Road, I have fond memories of helping to hang the first blackboards in the new elementary building on Randol Mill Road. It was a natural choice for me to send my three children to TCS. All three, Allyson, Autumn, and Austen, attended the school for 13 years each. Upon graduation, my three Temple Christian graduates each received large scholarships to attend Texas A & M University. Now adults, these graduates of TCS are engineers. I have seen the benefits of a Temple Christian School education in my own family.

My husband and I are blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Kate, Evie, Ollie, and James.  I can definitely say that grandchildren are grand!  There will be another Kidwell wedding this December as my daughter, Autumn Kidwell, (TCS Class of 2005), will be marring Edward Krupski in Austin, Texas.

Reading, editing, researching, and studying literature have been long-life passions of mine. It is a blessing to guide high school students in each of these areas. Even if my students do not share my love in each of these areas, they will learn the processes. My senior students will, also,  learn the process of college applications; completing resumes, conducting interviews, understanding literature, and the steps of research.

I appreciate that parents have chosen Temple Christian School for their children's education. I consider the opportunity to teach these young people an honor and a privilege. While receiving education, my prayer is that each student will grow in the wisdom of the Lord, and choose to serve Him. I believe I was called by God to teach and consider each of my students to be a unique creation and perfectly designed by the Lord.

It has been a blessing to teach at Temple Christian School for over 20 years.  This year, I am looking forward to teaching English to the Class of 2020 and serving as guidance counselor to the secondary students!
