Temple Christian Cheerleaders Capture National Championship - 2004
The cheerleading squad from Temple Christian Schools, Ft. Worth, traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C. recently and was crowned National Champions in competition sponsored by the
Christian Cheerleaders of America. The Temple squad captured their
first national title competing in the "Music Division" of the event.
The four day competition featured over 150 squads from across the nation. Each squad qualified for nationals by capturing state or regional titles. In the music division, Temple beat out the second place team from Tri-Cities Christian School, Georgia. The Temple girls finished second in another non-music division. The music division win marked the first national cheerleading championship for the school. Temple's team had finished second in the music division at the 2003 National Championships.

Three of Temple's senior cheerleaders shared in over $1 million worth of scholarships awarded at the championships. Kimi Willingham, Keri Crowell, and Lauren Massey, were recognized for compiling a grade point average above 4.0 during their high school years.
