"Inspiring the passion to learn, the courage to lead, and the commitment to serve."

The athletic philosophy of our school flows naturally out of our educational philosophy.  Therefore, the primary goal of our athletic program is to bring glory to God through encouraging our teams to perform to the best of the ability the Lord has given them.

The guiding principle for athletics at TCS is, and shall be, to stimulate, to encourage and to promote the athletic programs in an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, Christian sportsmanship and wholesome competition for the athletes.  TCS teams strive for a double win (exhibiting a Godly attitude and winning on the scoreboard).

Participation in athletics prepares a person for the Christian life in a society based on competition and excellence. An athlete who commits himself to excellence and learns to deal with success and failure on the playing field will carry this ability with him throughout his life. The goal of an athletic program should be the development and welfare of Christian character traits. It should develop an athlete physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially and in so doing, bring the young person closer to God.

SPIRITUAL GOALS FOR ATHLETES
Athletic competition provides many pictures of the Christian life. It is our desire to take advantage of the unique relationship that exists between coach and athlete, so that we may disciple a student’s spiritual growth.

We will encourage all athletes:
  • to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (John 14:6);
  • to be prepared to give a testimony for Christ--to be a witness;
  • to walk in integrity ;
  • to be faithful to a local church (Hebrews 10 :25);
  • to be committed to a daily quiet time of Bible study and prayer (II Peter 3:18);
  • to use the platform of athletics as a testimony for Christ (I Timothy 4:8);
  • to discipline oneself physically and spiritually (I Corinthians 6:19,20)
  • put the needs of others first (Philippians 2:3);
  • to commit oneself to purity and a clean heart (Ephesians 5: 3,5);
  • to possess and live by a Christ-centered worldview (Colossians 3:2).
