What are the goals of the science department?

"To teach man's understanding of God's wonderful creation from a Godly perspective."

Why do you love teaching science?

"I have been called of God to teach science at Temple. As a bivocational minister, I always seek God’s will for my second job. All work is sacred, but it is nice when my second job is a ministry also. Another positive is that it allows me more time with my family than my previous employments have. I also relish the challenge that teaching is."

Were you a real scientist before you came to Temple?

"Yes, I have a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and have done further studies including research. I was employed for 17 years as a forensic chemist."

What is your role in the Temple Christian Science Department?

"I teach Earth Science, chemistry and Physics. I have taught Biology here also."

What do you plan to do to improve the science department?

"First, I plan to continue in my current position for many years getting better at it every year, second, science is learned best by experience, so plan to include more include move laboratory experiences and demonstrations."

What did you study in school?

"In high school I took math and science with vigor and interest. I also took everything else that I had to. I took French for a foreign language. In college I majored in chemistry. I Entered the PHD program in Organic Chemistry. I changed my major to Science education. Eventually came to seminary and graduated with a masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages."
