Basic Science Department Classroom Rules
Class Rules:
- Be Prepared: Col. 3:23
Bring all materials and assignments on time, because that is what God expects of us. We are to do all things to His glory.
- Use Wholesome Speech: Eph.4:29
We are going to speak kindness to one another. We will not return evil for evil by cutting each other down. We will overcome evil with good by returning blessing for unkind remarks. The old saying holds: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
- Respect Authority: Heb. 13:17
We may not always agree with the people who exert power in our loves, but the truth is that God placed those people in those positions. All power is His; He merely entrusts some of it to our leaders. Respect for your leaders is respect for God. By the way, you will always be under authority and you will always have a dress code. Get used to it.
Requirements:
- You will need a set of no less than 12 colored pencils, a three ring binder, and a box of plastic or latex gloves. Medical type, not lunch-lady type.
- Keep all notes, quizzes, & assignments in a 3-ring binder for future study.
- Participate in class discussions, group work and take notes during lecture.
- Be prepared for quizzes and tests.
- Follow class rules listed above.
Policies
- Do not bring food or drinks into class unless class plans are made involving such.
- Restroom breaks are discouraged. Come to class prepared; meaning: don't drink a 42 oz. Big Gulp right before class. Leaving class will result in an unexcused tardy tallied in the attendance book, except in extreme circumstances.
- Homework late one day gets a maximum grade of 80%, two days, 60%. Homework older than 2 days we will discuss with parents.
- Almost all homework will be done in pencil. Black or standard blue ink are the only pens accepted.
- Do not turn in work on spiral bound paper - even the perforated kind. Use white loose leaf paper for all assignments.
- Do not touch things on my desk or things set up for demonstrations.
- Papers turned in with incorrect headings, spiral edges, weird ink, or just generally way too messy will be handed back for correction, late rules apply.
