Mrs. Porter 3rd Grade

Favorite verse: "Trust in the Lord with all things and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

A little bit of information about Mrs. Porter:
Mrs. Porter graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. She also has a R.D.H. from the University of Texas at Houston with a Bachelor of Science. She majored in Education and also has a minor in Bible from the Arlington Baptist College. Mrs. Porter won Teacher of the Year in 1999 from Temple Christian School. Her daughter graduated from Temple with the class of 2006 and is now attending the University of Texas at Arlington and majoring in Political Science. Mrs. Porter enjoys teaching Vacation Bible School in the summer, going to church camps, and teaching 1st graders in Sunday School at her church in Grand Prairie. Her hobbies include reading her Bible, watching old movies, and being the banker in the game of Monopoly.

Overview of this past school year:
Mrs. Porter's third grade class traveled to the Log Cabin Village and listened to the Blacksmith and the classroom teacher as they taught of the early days. Mr. Slim Goodbody taught the class about how the heart pumps blood and how their food is digested. They also recently visited the Dallas World Aquarium and were excited to see some of the animals that they have studied in science.

In preparation for the new school year:
This summer, Mrs. Porter will be attending a seminar "Schools Attuned" to encourage students in their ability to learn.
